Writer / Lead Actor

Beginning as a projectionist at the local small town cinema at age 14 in Nebraska, Rod has been studying films of all genres and eras for over 25 years. After working as a camera assistant on many of short films and sync-sound engineer for several other's films, Rod created his Los Angeles-based production company “Sir Reel Productions” in 2003, which shoots music videos, concerts, showcases, acting scenes, and edits promotional reels for actors and live performers. An actor himself, Rod has worked extensively in theatre as well as film. His theatre credits include a string of Broadway shows (The Civil War, Jekyll & Hyde, Saturday Night Fever) & tours (The Full Monty, Mamma Mia, Starlight Express) where he played lead roles or featured roles in most. He has also appeared in several short films, including a ’97 NY Film & Video Festival Best Short Film winner entitled, The Gift. Rod has studied at The Beverly Hills Playhouse under such masters as Milton Katselas and Jeffrey Tambor, and has also finished the 2-yr program at The School for Film & Television in NYC. Rod has found his acting background to be extremely helpful, if not vital, in the subtleties of film editing and shot creation and composition. Rod is a member of IFP and Filmmaker’s Alliance.

A.K. Murray & M.B. Murray - The Day Of The Grackle is A.K. Murray and M.B. Murray’s first collaboration. The couple began working on the piece five years prior after hearing the personal account of a man who was plagued by a bothersome grackle and was determined to solve the problem…permanently. Intrigued and amused by the tale, its development into a screenplay occurred naturally as they each added elements to the story in order to amuse one another during many long hikes in the mountains of Southern California. In addition, the Murrays decidedly pay homage to many of their favorite old silent movies as well as Hitchcock in The Day Of The Grackle. M.B. Murray met Rod Weber and Michael Berry while working on the National Tour of Mamma Mia! Having the bulk of their days free, they decided to make a movie of …Grackle. With the help of Berry and Weber, the Murrays’ vision came to action-packed, colorful life. A.K. Murray is a full time musician in Los Angeles. M.B. Murray is an actor and plays the role of “Man” in The Day Of The Grackle.
